BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Alabama Golf Association (AGA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Jeremy Gardner as the Manager of Junior Golf and Tournament Programs.  Gardner, a Denver, CO native, will serve as the point person between the AGA and allied golf organizations in Alabama and Southeast for junior golf related information, manage the Alabama Junior Golf Schedule, coordinate junior golf and college golf seminars, and assist with AGA tournament administration.

Gardner gained golf administration experience working most recently with the Southern Nevada Golf Association (SNGA) as the Manager of Junior Golf and Competitions.  His responsibilities with the SNGA included the implementation and management of the Las Vegas Junior Golf Association (LVJGA), implementing the Youth on Course Program in Las Vegas, and conducting all SNGA and LVJGA Championships and qualifiers.

“We could not be happier for Jeremy to join our growing team at the AGA,” stated Andy Priest, AGA Executive Director. “His experience working with several other nationally recognized junior programs will help us quickly determine the best path forward for working with our allied groups to collectively grow junior golf in Alabama.”

“I am extremely excited to get started and help develop a Junior Program that the entire State of Alabama will be proud of,” said Gardner.  “I’m really looking forward to meeting all the junior golfers and their parents here in Alabama and making sure that every opportunity is provided to them to be successful in the present and future, wherever that takes them.”

In 2013, Gardner graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver (Colorado) with a degree in Sport Management and Finance.  During college, Gardner was a Tournament Operations intern with the Colorado Golf Association.  Following graduation, he served as a USGA P.J Boatwright Intern with the Southern Nevada Golf Association.  Prior to rejoining the SNGA, Gardner worked in the junior golf department at the Southern California Golf Association as a Program Coordinator.

Gardner began his position with the AGA on March 20th.
