Robbie Shelton of Wilmer, AL cards a 69 to earn Medalist honors
GLENCOE, AL – Final results from U.S. Open Championship Local Qualifying hosted by RTJ at Silver Lakes in Glencoe, AL on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 (7177 yards, par 36-36—72, Course/Slope Rating: 74.8/143).
Five qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.
Robert Shelton IV of Wilmer, AL carded a three-under 69 to take medalist honors. Lee McCoy of Jupiter, FL (70); Samuel Love of Trussville, AL (71); Michael Peter of Fort Myers, FL (71) and David Skinns of England (72) took the other remaining qualifying spots.
David Skinns won the last qualifying spot via a four-for-one playoff with a birdie on the fourth playoff hole.
The five qualifiers advanced to sectional qualifying that will be played at 12 sites located throughout the U.S. (10 sites) and internationally in England (1) and Japan (1).

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 130 member clubs represented by nearly 18,500 individuals. The activities and services of the Alabama Golf Association are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Alabama golfers who wish to serve the game and the association through service. AGA is the USGA's liaison for golf in Alabama conducting national championship qualifying, administering the USGA Handicap system including the GHIN Handicap service, course & slope rating and education.
