BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (August 6, 2018) – Final results of the 1st Alabama State Parent-Child Championship hosted by RTJ at Oxmoor Valley (Ridge) in Birmingham, AL on Monday, August 6, 2018 (Par 36-36—72).
The inaugural Alabama State Parent-Child Championship was conducted today for the first time at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley’s Ridge course in Birmingham. 31 teams from across the state competed in three divisions over 18 holes of modified alternate shot where both team members played from their designated tee, selected a ball, then played alternate shot until the ball was holed.
Division Winners:
- Father-Son Division: Arthur and Dalton Chandler of Anniston fired a 68 (-4)
- Mixed Division: Chris and Erin Eddy of Hartselle carded a 67 (-5)
- Open Division: Larry and Brice Warden of Fairhope posted a 71 (-1)

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 130 member clubs represented by nearly 18,500 individuals. The activities and services of the Alabama Golf Association are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Alabama golfers who wish to serve the game and the association through service. AGA is the USGA's liaison for golf in Alabama conducting national championship qualifying, administering the USGA Handicap system including the GHIN Handicap service, course & slope rating and education. The AGA annually conducts 13 championships and team match competitions for men, women, juniors, and seniors.
