OPELIKA, AL (July 29, 2020) - Partial round one results of the 104th Alabama Men’s State Amateur Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Saugahatchee Country Club in Opelika, AL on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.

Play was suspended for round one at 5:20 p.m. due to heavy rain downpour and unplayable conditions. 50 players will finish round one tomorrow. Round one will resume tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.

Beating a called-day of play, Ward Harris of Birmingham and Woodie Eubanks of Oneonta currently co-lead round one of the 104th Alabama Men’s State Amateur Championship, shooting four-under 68 for the day.

Currently standing tied for first place at four-under 68, Gordon Sargent of Birmingham (thru 15) and Carter Goodwin of Hoover (thru 11) will resume play tomorrow morning.

Revised Schedule for Round One

  • Range opens at 6:00 a.m.
  • Round one resumes at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020

Important Notes for Round Two

  • Round two begins at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020
  • Morning wave players will add 30 minutes to respective, original starting times
  • Afternoon wave players will start on-time at 12:30 p.m.
  • Hole locations will not change for round two
  • Tee locations will be changed

This championship will be conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
