Round One Leaders of Alabama State Senior and Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships: Kevin Newton, Joseph Fortner, Todd Norman, David Hancock, Chip Woddail, Hamp Andrews

CALERA, AL (October 16, 2020) – First round results of the 26th Alabama State Senior and Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Timberline Golf Club in Calera, AL on Friday, October 16, 2020.

David Hancock and Todd Norman of Greenville, Alabama co-lead round one of the 26th Alabama State Senior Four-Ball Championship with Joseph Fortner of Hoover, Alabama and Kevin Newton of Birmingham, Alabama. Each side fired a seven-under 64 fired to open.

“We brother-in-lawed really well today,” Hancock said. “We took advantage of the holes we could. It was a good day!”

Newton and Fortner holed in for bogey on No. 18 to stand tied heading into round two.

Leading the 2nd Alabama State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championship, Chip Woddail and Hamp Andrews of Daphne, Alabama posted seven-under 64 to lead by one-stroke.

There is a three-way tie for second place among the following teams:

·      David Dougherty and Stewart Alexander of Auburn, Alabama

·      Robert Parmar of Fairhope, Alabama and Terry Chapman of Monroeville, Alabama

·      Clarke Kelly and Steve Bailey of Birmingham, Alabama

Round two of the Alabama State Senior and Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships begins Saturday, October 16, 2020, at 7:20 a.m.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
