Youth on Course Alabama Continues to Grow

HOOVER, AL – Youth on Course, the non-profit organization that provides junior golfers ages 6-18 with subsidized golf rounds, college scholarships, caddie programming, and paid internships has partnered with the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) to bring rounds for $5 or less to participating junior golfers in the State of Alabama.

Born in 2006, Youth on Course subsidizes green fees to remove cost as a barrier to entry into the game for potential lifetime golfers.  With the addition of Alabama, Youth on Course is now active in all 50 states and Canadian Provinces with over 100,000 members.

Since Youth on Course Alabama’s inception in June of 2020, youth golfers have saved over $5,000 in green fees at some of the finest public facilities in the state including the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail sites.  YOC Alabama will subsidize an internship program for members that are interested in pursuing a career in the golf industry.

“The Alabama Golf Association is committed to growing the game of golf in our state,” said Andy Priest, Executive Director of the Alabama Golf Association.  “Partnering with Youth on Course is our next step towards fulfilling that commitment. Youth on Course membership offers youth golfers from across the state very affordable facility access, not only in Alabama but nationally in participating states, along with opportunities for professional instruction, programming and competitions to provide a well-rounded golf experience.”

Youth on Course has surpassed 1,000,000 subsidized rounds to date and exceeded $2 million in awarded college scholarships to deserving members.  Alumni of the program have gone on to be collegiate golfers and productive members of the industry.

Support for Youth on Course drives the continued growth both domestically and worldwide.  The program has been recognized by The Golf Channel and Golf Digest as an essential bridge between youth instruction and consistent play throughout adulthood.  Some of Alabama’s most influential people in the golf industry will be vocal ambassadors of the program.
