Quarterfinals Gets Underway at 20th Alabama State Match Play and 1st Alabama State Senior Match Play Championships

AUBURN, AL – (Aug. 7, 2021) Round three results of the 20th Alabama State Match Play and 1st Alabama State Senior Match Play Championships, hosted by Auburn University Club in Auburn, AL, on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021.

The 20th Alabama State Match Play and 1st Alabama State Senior Match Play Championships advanced to match play format as the top 16 players from each Championship battled this morning and afternoon.

Eight players in each Championship remained in the afternoon Quarterfinals. Four players in each Championship will advance to tomorrow’s Semifinals and Finals.

Woodie Eubanks of Oneonta defeated Frankie Wade of Hoover 4 & 3.

Clay Guerin of Hoover defeated Tobin Ayers of Auburn 3 & 2.

Connor Doyal of Birmingham defeated Ford Goldasich of Homewood 2 up.

Sam Jeffcoat of Birmingham defeated Dylan Moncus of Alexander City 2 & 1.

Brent Cooper of Spanish Fort defeated Will McFadden of Mobile 6 & 5.

Kyle Cornelius of Mobile defeated Ben Fuller of Birmingham 1 up.

Matthew Myers of Auburn defeated Bart Barnes of Troy  2 & 1.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)

The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 115 member clubs represented by over 21,000 individuals.
