MONTGOMERY, AL (Aug. 17, 2022) – Final results of the 2022 U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifying hosted by Montgomery Country Club in Montgomery, AL, on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022 (6418 yards, par 35-35—70, Course/Slope Rating: 71.7/134).

Three qualifying spots were available at this site. Two alternate positions were also available.
68 players competed to punch their ticket to the 41st U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship. 
Lance Goodson of Birmingham, AL fired a four-under 66 to earn medalist honors and secure the first qualifying spot.
James Salter of Auburn, AL and Chase Blaich of DeFuniak Springs, FL both carded a three-under 67, claiming the second and third qualifying spots. 
Tobin Ayers of Auburn, AL and Cates Culpepper of Columbus, GA both posted a two-under 68 for the day. After three playoff holes for the 1st and 2nd alternate seats, Ayers earned the 1st Alternate Position and Culpepper earned the 2nd Alternate Position.
The cut line fell at three-under 67 with three players advancing to the 2022 U.S. Mid-Amateur at Erin Hills, in Erin, Wis., on Sept. 10-15, 2022.

The 2022 U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifying is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.
About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)

AGA membership consists of over 115 member clubs represented by over 24,000 individuals. Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
