POINT CLEAR, AL – (Sept. 17, 2022) Round Two results of the 34th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship, hosted by Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear, AL, on Sept. 17, 2022.

Hunter Hawkins of Fort Payne fired a four-under 68 to soar to the top of the 34th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship leaderboard. He finished Round Two with a seven-under 137 overall, carding a three-under 69 for yesterday’s Round One.
 
“I was in play off the tee on all of them today,” said Hawkins. “Six birdies, two bogeys. Four under.”
 
Connor Elder of Mobile, Round One leader, stands just one stroke behind Hawkins. Elder posted a one-under 71 for Round Two, standing six-under 138 overall.
 
Haymes Snedeker of Point Clear and Wil Clowdus of Birmingham stand T3 with a four-under 140. Snedeker carded a two-under 70 for the day; Clowdus fired a three-under 69 for the day.

The cutline fell at 11-over 155 with 61 players advancing to the Final Round of the 34th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship.
 
The Final Round of the 34th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship begins Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. off #1 and #10 tees.
 
This Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.
 
About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
