Musgrove Country Club To Host 14th Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball and 3rd Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championships

JASPER, AL – (July 18, 2021) The Alabama Golf Association’s 14th Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball and 3rd Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championships will be held at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper, AL, from July 19-20. The field is set with 52 players, making up 26 teams competing for the Championship title.

This year marks the 14th playing of the Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Championship and the 3rd playing of the Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championship. This will mark the first time that Musgrove Country Club has hosted either event.

The team of Hannah Dees of Fairhope and Lauren Gilchrist of Spanish Fort claimed their first Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Champion title in 2020 at Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear, AL.

The team of Martha Lang of Shoal Creek and Susan West of Tuscaloosa claimed the title in 2020 at Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear, AL. West will return to defend her title.

14th Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Championship

Entries for the 14th Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Championship are open to sides of female amateur golfers who are legal residents of Alabama and have an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club. Two players who play as partners comprise a side. Partners are not required to be from the same club. There will be two divisions: Championship and Tournament. Players must pick their division during online registration.

Championship Yardage: 6133 yards, par 35-36-71

This Championship consists of 36 holes of gross four-ball stroke play. The lowest score for 36 holes will be the Champions. In the event of a tie for the Championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play. The playoff holes and order of play will be determined by the AGA. Any other ties for prizes in all other flights will be resolved by matching scorecards according to the USGA recommendation shown in the Committee Procedures section within the Rules of Golf – “Matching Scorecards.” The Tournament Division will be flighted after 18 holes by score (if necessary). Initial groupings are for round one; round two is repaired by score.

3rd Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championship

Entries for the 3rd Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championship are open to sides of female amateur golfers who are legal residents of Alabama and have an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club. Two players who play as partners comprise a side. Partners are not required to be from the same club. Both members of the side must have reached their 50th birthday by July 19, 2021.

Tournament Yardage: 4987 yards, par 35-36-71

Course/Slope Rating: 68.5/117

This championship consists of 36 holes of gross four-ball stroke play. The lowest score for 36 holes will be the Senior Champions (within First Flight, if necessary). In the event of a tie for the Senior Championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play. The playoff holes and order of play will be determined by the AGA. Any other ties for prizes in all other flights will be resolved by matching scorecards according to the USGA recommendation shown in the Committee Procedures section within the Rules of Golf – “Matching Scorecards.” The Tournament Division will be flighted after 18 holes by score (if necessary). Initial groupings are for round one; round two is repaired by score.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
