Round Two of the 25th Alabama State Senior and 4th Alabama Super-Senior Amateur Championships Gets Underway

GADSDEN, AL (May 21, 2022) – Round Two results of the 25th Alabama State Senior Amateur Championship and 4th Alabama State Super-Senior Amateur Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by The Gadsden Country Club in Gadsden, AL on Saturday, May 21, 2022 (6274 yards (Senior); 5802 yards (Super-Senior), Course/Slope Rating: 70.2/130 (Senior); 68.0/125 (Super-Senior).

Chris Lemley of Decatur and Shaw Pritchett of Montgomery co-lead Round Two of the 25th Alabama State Senior Amateur Championship, each posting two-under 69 for the day and four-under 138 for the Championship. Lemley and Pritchett sit one stroke ahead of the competition.
“It was pretty smooth. I can’t say it was stress free by any stretch, but I didn’t have a whole lot of problems,” said Pritchett. “So I’m just going to try and stick with that next shot and hope I can stay upright.” 
 
Mike Arasin of Auburn stands third, carding three-under 68 for Round Two and three-under 139 for the Championship. 
 
David Head of Sterrett maintains his lead through Round Two of the 4th Alabama State Super-Senior Amateur Championship. Head carded even-par 71 for Round Two. Overall, he stands four-under 138 for the Championship. 
 
John Gibbs of Oneonta stands second, carding one-under 70 for Round Two and even-par 71 for the Championship. John Coles of Birmingham stands one stroke behind Gibbs, finishing with one-under 70 for Round Two and one-over 72 for the Championship.
 
The State Senior cut line fell at 10-over 152 with 42 players advancing to the final round. The State Super-Senior cut line fell at 12-over 154 with 20 players advancing to the final round.  
 
The final round of the 25th Alabama State Senior Amateur Championship and 4th Alabama State Super-Senior Amateur Championship begins Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 7:30 a.m.
