Jackson McIntyre and Annalee Regan Lead Round One of the 3rd Alabama State 13 & Under Junior Championships

BIRMINGHAM, AL (June 22, 2022) – First Round results of the 3rd Alabama State 13 & Under Junior Championships of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Highland Park Golf Course in Birmingham, Alabama, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

Jackson McIntyre of Montgomery leads Round One for the Male Overall division, posting a 7-under 63 for the round. McIntyre fired seven birdies during the Round, and holds a four-stroke lead.
 
“I was putting good, I was hitting my driver pretty good…in all it was a good round,” McIntyre said. “I just went out there and played it how I play any other day.”
 
Ryan Pugh of Birmingham and Samuel Wolfe of Harvest each stand T2, posting a three-under 67.
 
Annalee Regan of Muscle Shoals stands leader of Round One for the Female Overall Division, firing a three-under 67 for the round.
 
“I missed a lot of fairways, but I somehow found a way to find the green and get up and down for par,” said Regan.
 
Adalyn Pike of Athens stands second, carding an even-par 70 today.
 
Round One Leaders by Age Division:
●      Boys 12-13 Age Division: Jackson McIntyre of Montgomery, seven-under 63
●      Boys 9-11 Age Division: Keegan Richardson of Athens, two-over 72
●      Boys 6-8 Age Division: Haynes Willings of Birmingham, four-over 40
●      Girls 12-13 Age Division: Annalee Regan of Muscle Shoals, three-under 67
●      Girls 9-11 Age Division: Merritt Daniel of Trussville, 12-over 82
●      Girls 6-8 Age Division: Emerson Peevy of Auburn, 13-over 49
 
Championship Format:
●      36 holes of gross individual stroke play for players 9-11 & 12-13 Age Divisions.
●      18 holes (9 each day) for 6-8 Age Division.
●      The lowest score for 36 holes in the Overall Division (9-11 and 12-13 Age Divisions) will be the Overall Champion.
●      In the event of a tie for the Overall Championship only, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play. The playoff holes and their order of play will be determined by the Committee.
●      Any other ties in all other divisions will be resolved by matching scorecards according to the USGA recommendation within the Committee Procedures of the Rules of Golf – “Matching Scorecards.”
●      Initial groupings will be for Round One. Players will be repaired by score for the Final Round.
