Round Two Results of the 4th Southeast Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship

ALEXANDER CITY, AL (Aug. 27, 2022) – Round Two results of the 4th Southeast Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship hosted by Willow Point Golf & Country Club in Alexander City, AL on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 (Mid-Amateur Division: 7161 yards; Senior Division: 6709 yards; Par 36-36—72).

Maintaining the lead within the Mid-Amateur Division, Alan Coshatt of Birmingham, AL and Dalton Melnyk of Atlanta, GA remain atop the leaderboard at the 4th Southeast Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship, with a low seven-under 65 for Round Two. They stand 17-under 127 for the tournament.
 
Melnyk eagled hole No. 3, and he partnered alongside Melnyk to birdie Nos. 5, 6, 13, 17, and 18.
 
One stroke behind, Hunter Hawkins and Scott Weatherly of Fort Payne, AL stand second, posting a nine-under 63 for the day and 16-under 128 for the tournament.
 
The following teams stand T3, with a total 15-under 129 for the tournament:
●      M Tyler McKeever of Atlanta, GA and Steven Groover of Atlanta, GA (six-under 66 for Round Two)
●      Norman Waldrop and Paul Vardaman of Birmingham, AL (eight-under 64 for Round Two)
●      Brent Whitehead and Kirk Whitehead of Atlanta, GA (six-under 66 for Round Two)
 
Shaw Pritchett and Jeff Taylor of Montgomery, AL maintained their lead through Round Two, firing a six-under 66 for the day and 15-under 129 overall to lead their competition by four strokes. Their round included one eagle from Taylor and six birdies combined.
 
The teams of Kevin Jordan of Smyrna, GA and Ray Harris of Leeds, AL, and Bruce Alter of Montgomery, AL and Jack Doane of Destin, FL both stand T2 with a total score of 11-under 133.
 
The field was cut to low 30 scores and ties for the Final Round. 19 sides advanced in the Mid-Amateur Division; the cutline fell at 10-under 134. 11 sides advanced to the Senior Division; the cutline fell at six-under 138.
 
The Final Round begins Sunday, Aug. 28th, 2022, at 7:30 a.m. off #1 and #10.
