HUNTSVILLE, AL – (Oct. 13, 2022) The Alabama Golf Association’s 28th Alabama State Senior Four-Ball and 4th Alabama State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships will be held at Valley Hill Country Club, in Huntsville, Alabama, from Oct. 14-16, 2022.

This year marks the twenty-eighth playing of the Alabama State Senior Four-Ball Championship and the fourth playing of the Alabama State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championship. This will mark the first time that Valley Hill Country Club has hosted either event.
 
Claud Cooper of Birmingham and Jeff Taylor of Montgomery claimed the 27th Alabama State Senior Four-Ball Championship title in 2021 at Inverness Country Club. Richard Jeffers of Mobile and Robert Parmar of Fairhope won the 3rd Alabama State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championship in 2021 at Inverness Country Club.

Entries are open to sides of male amateur golfers who are legal residents of Alabama and have an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club. Maximum allowable combined team handicap is 16.8 under the USGA Handicap System™. Two players who play as partners comprise a side. Partners are not required to be from the same club. Both members of the side must have reached their 50th birthday by October 14, 2022.
 
Championship Yardage: 6482 yards (36-36–72)

Course/Slope Rating: 72.1/130

Format:
• 54 holes of gross four-ball stroke play.
• The field will be cut to the low TBD sides and ties after 36 holes.
• The lowest score for 54 holes will be the Champion. In the event of a tie for first place in the Championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play. The playoff holes and their order of play will be determined by the Committee.
• Initial groupings will be for two rounds; the field will be cut and repaired by score after the second round.
 
4th Alabama State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championship
Entries are open to sides of male amateur golfers who are legal residents of Alabama and have an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club. Maximum allowable combined team handicap is 20.8 under the USGA Handicap System™. Two players who play as partners comprise a side. Partners are not required to be from the same club. Both members of the side must have reached their 65th birthday by October 14, 2022.
 
Championship Yardage: 5890 yards (36-36–72)

Course/Slope Rating:  69.0/121

Format:
• 54 holes of gross four-ball stroke play.
• The field will be cut to the low TBD sides and ties after 36 holes.
• The lowest score for 54 holes will be the Champion. In the event of a tie for first place in the Championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play. The playoff holes and their order of play will be determined by the Committee.
• Initial groupings will be for the first two rounds; the field will be cut and repaired by score after the second round.

Field cut to low TBD sides and ties for final round.
Field regrouped according to score.

Final Round: Tee times at 8:00 a.m. off #1 & #10 tees.
Awards ceremony immediately following play.
 
About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
