41st Alabama State Four-Ball Champions: Will McCurdy and Blake Watts

ONEONTA, AL (April 30, 2023) – Semifinal and Final results of the Alabama Golf Association’s 41st Alabama State Four-Ball Championship held at Limestone Springs in Oneonta, AL on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

Will McCurdy of Auburn and Blake Watts of Valley Head claimed the 41st Alabama State Four-Ball title to be crowned Champions. McCurdy and Watts remained in tight competition on the front nine of the Finals with opponents Nick Dunlap of Huntsville and Bryan Askew of Huntville; after holes No. 8 and 9, the Champions were down 2 following a birdie putt on #8 and eagle wedge on #9, both by Askew.

McCurdy and Watts battled the next few holes until they caught momentum on No. 16 with a putt for birdie to go 1 up on opponents Dunlap and Askew. Watts secured the win on No. 18 with a 20-foot putt. The duo won 1 up.

McCurdy and Watts began their Semifinals with a close match against Jonathan Nelson of Huntsville and Tim Harwick of Huntsville; McCurdy and Watts built momentum on the last four holes to secure a 3 & 1 win against their opponents.

In the morning Semifinals, Dunlap and Askew won their match against Freeman Fite and Jackson King 2 & 1.

This Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.
