Champions Crowned at the 32nd Alabama State Senior Four-Ball & 8th State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships

HOOVER, AL (October 9, 2026) – Final Round results from the 32nd Alabama State Senior Four-Ball and 8th State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships hosted at Hoover Country Club in Hoover, AL, October 8-9, 2026.

Due to potential impacts of Hurricane Isaias, the 32nd Alabama State Senior and 8th Alabama State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships were shortened to 36 holes. In the event of a tie in either division, co-champions were declared. 

The side of Ty Cole of Albertville + Woodie Eubanks of Oneonta fired the low round of the tournament today to claim the 32nd Alabama State Senior Four-Ball Championship title. The duo finished five-shots ahead of the second place side, carding an overall score of 16-under 128 (64, 64). 

Jeff Taylor + Shaw Pritchett of Montgomery placed second. They finished the day with a two-under 70, carding an 11-under 133 (63, 70) for the Championship. 

The sides of Kevin Terrell + Rucker Brown of Brewton and Claud Cooper + McGowin Miller of Birmingham tied with an overall score of seven-under 137. After a scorecard playoff, Cooper + Miller won third place. The duo completed the Final Round with a five-under 67. 

David Head of Sterrett + Randy Smith of Childersburg and Del Wood of Birmingham + Lee McDaniel of Vestavia Hills both ended the championship with overall scores of nine-under 135 to be crowned Co-Champions. 

The team of David Hancock + Steve Norman of Greenville claimed bronze, carding a four-under 68 for the day and eight-under 136 (68, 68) overall. 

These Championships are conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.

Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
