DECATUR, AL (May 20, 2023) – Second round results of the 26th Alabama State Senior Amateur Championship and 5th Alabama State Super-Senior Amateur Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Burningtree Country Club in Decatur, AL on Saturday, May 20, 2023 [(6548 yards (Senior); 5982 (Super-Senior), Course/Slope Rating: 71.9/142 (Senior); 68.8/122 (Super-Senior)]

Shaw Pritchett of Montgomery maintained his first round lead in the Alabama State Senior Amateur Championship with a three-under 69 for the day. Pritchett made four birdies during his round and just one bogey. He sits four strokes ahead of his competition, with an overall score of 137 (seven-under) after 36 holes.
 
Kenny Miller of Madison stands second, carding a one-under 71 for round two and three-under 141 overall. Miller carded an eagle on the par-5 #7 today.
 
The following players stand T3, with an overall score of one-under 143:

●      Robert Nelson of Fairhope
●      Danny Spybey of Spanish Fort
●      Chris Cook of Alabaster
●      Rucker Brown of Brewton
●      Michael Weathers of Warrior
 
Dana Amberson of Hartselle leads the Alabama State Super-Senior Amateur Championship into the final round, posting even-par for round two to stand 141 (three-under par) overall.
 
Tom Jungkind stands four strokes behind, carding a two-under 70 for round two and 145 (one-over) overall.
 
The following players stand T3, with an overall score of 146 (+2):

●      Emile Vaughan of Pike Road
●      Frankie Odom of Decatur
 
The State Senior cut line fell at 11-over 155 with 41 players advancing to the final round. The State Super-Senior cut line fell at 13-over 157 with 19 players advancing to the final round.  
 
The final round of the 26th Alabama State Senior Amateur Championship and 5th Alabama State Super-Senior Amateur Championship begins Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 7:30 a.m.
