		SCOTTSBORO, AL (June 4, 2023) – The Alabama Golf Association’s 60th Alabama Girls State Junior Championship will be held at Goose Pond Colony Resort (Lake Course) 
	 
	
		in Scottsboro, AL, June 5-7, 2023. Fifty junior golfers will compete for the 
	 
	
		2023 Girls State Junior Championship title.

		This year marks the second time Goose Pond Colony (Lake Course) has hosted the Alabama Girls State Junior Championship. Molly Brown Davidson of Springville claimed the 2022 Champion title. The inaugural Alabama Girls State Junior Champion, Judy Jehle, won in 1963 
	.   
	
		Alabama Girls State Junior Championship entries are open to any female amateur golfer who is a legal resident of Alabama and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club that does not exceed 20.4.

		About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) 
	
	
		The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 120 member clubs represented by over 26,000 individuals. The activities and services of the Alabama Golf Association are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Alabama golfers who wish to serve the game and the association through service.

		Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
