Claiming victory, Team Florida now has three total victories. Team Georgia holds four titles and Team Alabama has none to date.
Foursome Matches - Saturday, August 8
Team Alabama secured 4 points in the Foursome Matches.
The side of Virginia Grimes + Susan West earned two points. They defeated their Florida opponents, winning 6 & 5, and their Georgia opponents, winning 6 & 5.
The side of Linda Jeffery + Theresa Mahlik defeated their Florida opponents 5 & 4, earning one point for Team Alabama.
The side of Ashley-Sinclair Curtis + Kamdyn Kelley earned another point for Team Alabama. They defeated their Georgia opponents 1 up.
Four-Ball Matches - Saturday, August 8
Team Alabama secured 1.50 points in the Four-Ball Matches. Due to inclement weather, the four-ball matches were shortened to nine holes.
The side of Virginia Grimes + Susan West tied with their Florida opponents, earning half a point for Team Alabama.
The side of Linda Jeffery + Theresa Mahlik earned one point for Team Alabama, defeating their Georgia opponents 2&1.
Three-Ball Singles Matches – Sunday, August 9
Team Alabama secured 8.00 points in the Three-Ball Singles Matches.
Virginia Grimes earned two points. She defeated her Florida opponent, winning 4&2, and her Georgia opponent 7&6.
Linda Jeffery beat her Georgia opponent 4&3, earning one point for Team Alabama.
Susan West earned two points for Team Alabama. She defeated her Florida opponent 1 up and her Georgia opponent 5&3.
Theresa Mahlik tied her Florida opponent, earning half a point.
Chloe Ruble earned Team Alabama 1.5 points, defeating her Florida opponent 2&1, and tying her Georgia opponent.
Kamdyn Kelley earned one point, defeating her Georgia opponent 3&2.

The 8th Women’s Southeastern Challenge Matches will be contested in August of 2028, with Alabama hosting.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 125 member clubs represented by over 33,500 individuals. The activities and services of the Alabama Golf Association are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Alabama golfers who wish to serve the game and the association through service. A full-time professional staff of seven individuals handles day-to-day activities.

In addition to competitions, the AGA administers the AGA Scholarship Fund through the Alabama Golf Foundation that is dedicated to assisting young golfers in higher education. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
