This year marks the 18th playing of the Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Championship and 7th Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championship as well as the first time that Highland Park Golf Course has hosted the Women’s State Four-Ball Championship. The team of Molly Brown Davidson of Trussville and Anna Christian Beeker of Tuscaloosa claimed the title in 2024 at RTJ Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley Golf Course in Birmingham, AL. The team of Lea Green of McCalla and Linda Jeffery of Prattville clinched the 6th Women's Senior 4-Ball title at RTJ Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley Golf Course in Birmingham, AL. The Championship was first played in 2008 at Old Overton Club in Birmingham, AL with Kathy Hartwiger and Missy Gooden winning the inaugural event.

Championship Division Yardage/Course & Slope Rating: 5990 yards/72.6/130
Format: This Championship is conducted at 36 holes of gross four-ball stroke play. The lowest score for 36 holes will be the Champions (within First Flight, if necessary). In the event of a tie for the Championship, a hole-by-hole play-off will be held immediately following play. The play-off holes and order of play will be determined by the AGA. Any other ties for prizes in all other flights, will be resolved by matching scorecards according to the USGA recommendation shown in the Committee Procedures section within the Rules of Golf – “Matching Scorecards”. The field will be flighted after 18 holes by score (if necessary). Initial groupings are for round one; round two is re-paired by score.
Eligibility: Entries are open to sides of female amateur golfers who are members of the AGA, have an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club, own a residence in the state of Alabama where they physically live for at least 5 of the previous 12 months prior to
the tournament start date or are students who are enrolled in a high school or college in Alabama prior to the championship start date. Two players who play as partners comprise a side. Partners are not required to be from the same club.

Format: This Championship is conducted at 36 holes of gross four-ball stroke play. There will be two divisions as described in the entry form with the Senior Champions being the players who post the lowest score in the Championship Division. The Tournament Division will be flighted after 18 holes if necessary. An on-course hole by hole play-off will be used to break a tie for the overall championship. In the event of a tie for the Championship, a hole-by-hole play-off will be held immediately following play. The playoff holes and order of play will be determined by the AGA. Any other ties in all other flights, will be resolved by matching scorecards according to the USGA recommendation within the Committee Procedures of the Rules of Golf – “Matching Scorecards”. Initial groupings are for round one; field will be re-paired by score after each round.
Eligibility: Entries are open to sides of female amateur golfers who are legal residents of Alabama and have an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club. Two players who play as partners comprise a side. Partners are not required to be from the same club. Both members of the side must have reached their 50th birthday by July 29, 2025. There will be two divisions: Championship and Tournament. Players must pick their division during online registration.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 120 member clubs represented by over 30,000 individuals. The activities and services of the Alabama Golf Association are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Alabama golfers who wish to serve the game and the association through service. In addition to competitions, the AGA administers the AGA Scholarship Fund through the Alabama Golf Foundation that is dedicated to assisting young golfers in higher education. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
