Hunter Hawkins Crowned Champion of the 37th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship

37th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Champion: Hunter Hawkins of Fort Payne
ONEONTA, AL (September 28, 2025) – Final Round results of the 37th Alabama State Mid-Amateur hosted by Limestone Springs Golf Club in Oneonta, AL, on Sept. 28, 2025.

Hunter Hawkins of Fort Payne posted an overall total of 14-under 202 to claim the 37th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Champion title. Hawkins fired four-under 68 in the Final Round today (68, 66, 68).
 
“The last three years I’ve placed second,” Hawkins said. “This year I finally got it done so it feels really good.”
 
Jackson King of Vestavia Hills (70, 68, 68), Blaise Wilson of Cullman (69, 68, 69) and Casey O’Toole of Trussville (63, 73, 70) each finished the tournament with an overall total of 10-under 206 to tie for second place.
 
The top ten finishers plus ties will receive an exemption into the 2026 Alabama State Amateur Championship, hosted by The Country Club of Birmingham. In addition to Hawkins, King, Wilson and O’Toole, the following players will receive an exemption:
  • Blake Kelley of Birmingham
  • Ty Cole of Albertville
  • Stewart Whitt of Athens
  • Alex Balog of Elmore
  • Maxime Faure of Decatur
  • Tobin Ayers of Auburn
  • Logan Rawson of Elberta

The 37th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.  
 
About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) 
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 122 member clubs represented by over 33,000 individuals. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
 
Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors.
