Partial Round Two Results of the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship

HUNTSVILLE, AL (July 1, 2026) – Partial Round Two results of the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville, AL on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Round Two play was suspended at 3:41 p.m. due to inclement weather. After a 2.5 hour delay, Round Two play resumed at 6:00 p.m. and was suspended again at 6:45 p.m. due to inclement weather, leaving 57 players left to complete Round Two tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. 


Ty Hester of Guntersville currently sits in the solo lead after Round Two of the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship with 36-hole scores of six-under 138. Hester shot seven-under 65 with seven birdies today. He stands one shot ahead of the competition.
 
Cameron Rockett of Hoover and Lincoln Kilpatrick of Gadsden stand T2 with a two day total of five-under 139. 
 
The Final Round of the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship will begin after the completion of Round 2 on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

The 81st Alabama Alabama Boys State Junior Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association. 


About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 125 member clubs represented by over 33,500 individuals. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
