(July 2, 2026) – Final Round results of the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville, AL on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Fifty-six players returned this morning to complete the Second Round of the Championship. At the end of Round Two, Ty Hester of Guntersville still sat atop of the leaderboard.

Fifty-six players competed in the final round today for the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship title. The final round began at noon with a shotgun start. 

Rawlin Sutter of Vinemont began in fourth, two shots off the lead. Sutter finished with eight-under 64 for the day with eight birdies, obtaining victory with an overall score of 12-under 204.

“All glory to God,” said Sutter. “It’s always nice to go back-to-back. We got the Sutter-Peat going on.”

Rawlin Sutter of Vinemont has secured his spot to compete at the 2026 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship hosted at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania , July 20-25, 2026.

Cooper Pratt of Auburn and SJ Thomas of Birmingham both ended at eight-under 208. Pratt claimed silver after a scorecard playoff. Thomas took home bronze.

The 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.  

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 125 member clubs represented by over 33,500 individuals. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
