Round One Results of the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship

HUNTSVILLE, AL (June 30, 2026) – Round One results of the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville, AL on Tuesday, July 1, 2026.

156 players began the First Round of the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club today. Morning tee times began at 7:30 a.m., and the afternoon wave began at 12:30 p.m.


Defending champion Rawlin Sutter of Vinemont finished Round One with an impressive score of six-under 66. He had six birdies today to sit at the top of the leaderboard. 


Cameron Rockett of Hoover and Witt Cayce of Fairhope each finished their rounds at three-under 69 to currently sit T2.


There are five players who currently sit T4, each carding one-under 71 for Round One.

Players will begin Round Two tomorrow, July 1, 2026 at 7:30 a.m. off #1 and #10 tees.

The 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.  


About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 125 member clubs represented by over 33,500 individuals. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
