Round One Results of the 93rd Women’s State Amateur, 52nd Women’s State Senior & 7th Women’s State Super-Senior Championships

OPELIKA, AL (June 17, 2025) – Round One results of The Alabama Golf Association’s 93rd Alabama Women’s State Amateur, 52nd Women’s State Senior Amateur and 7th Alabama Women’s State Super-Senior Amateur Championships held at RTJ  Grand National (Lake Course) in Opelika, AL on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

Championship Links:  
Molly Brown Davidson of Springville, Scarlett Schremmer of Birmingham, and Gabriella Nicastro of Huntsville all posted a score of four-under par 69 to share the round one lead of the Women’s State Amateur Championship. 

Frances Brown of Mobile sits in fourth with a score of one-under 71. 

In the State Senior Amateur Championship Division, Virginia Grimes of Auburn sits at the top of the leaderboard, carding one-under 71 for the day.

Susan West of Tuscaloosa sits in second with a score of three-over 75 and Linda Jeffery of Prattville stands third with a score of four-over 76.

Dawn Miceli of Foley leads the State Senior Amateur Tournament Division with a round one score of 86.

At the Women’s State Super-Senior Championship, Cym Doggett of Huntsville leads after round one, posting a score of ten-over par 82. 

Karen Moore of Auburn stands second and one-shot back from the lead finishing round one with a score of 83.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)

AGA membership consists of 120 member clubs represented by over 30,000 individuals. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
