Cammie Gray of Northport Holds 36-Hole Lead
CULLMAN, AL – Round two results of the 26th Alabama Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by TP Country Club in Cullman, AL on Thursday, July 21, 2016 (Championship Division=5982 yards, par 36-36—72, 75.8/134; Tournament Division=4871 yards, par 36-36—72, 70.1/122).
University of Alabama team member Cammie Gray of Northport fired a two-under 70 (142) to take a one shot lead over UA recruit Michaela Morard of Huntsville (143). Gray is a first year graduate student at Alabama while Morard has verbally committed to the Crimson Tide for the class of 2020.
Micheala Williams of Athens is in third place at 145 following an even par 72 in today’s round.
Defending champion Elaine Wood of Spanish Fort carded a 71 to move up into fifth place at 150.
The Tournament Division was flighted by score for the final round. Hanna Dyar of Anniston leads the first flight at 160, Keri Rutledge of Birmingham in the second flight at 178 and Maleah Durham of Pelham holds the third flight lead at 197.
Alabama Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship is open to any female amateur golfer who is a legal resident of Alabama, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club that does not exceed 36.0.
