Charles Warren of Huntsville earned medalist honors at the 25th Alabama State Match Play Championship. Warren fired an impressive 13-under 131 for the 36-hole stroke play qualifier to lead the Championship into match play format as the No. 1 seed.
Blaise Wilson of Cullman and Andrew Hinson of Huntsville finished T2, each posting scores of 11-under 133 for the stroke play qualifying rounds. Wilson will enter match play as the No. 2 seed, Hawkins will enter match play as the No. 3 seed and Hinson will enter match play as the No. 4 seed.
After a 3-for-1 playoff, the cut to the low 16 players fell at four-under 140 within the Alabama State Match Play Championship.
Woodie Eubanks of Oneonta and Ty Cole of Albertville earned co-medalist honors at the 6th Alabama State Senior Match Play Championship, both posting overall scores of six-under 138 for the stroke play qualifying rounds. Eubanks will enter match play as the No. 1 seed and Cole will enter as the No. 2 seed.
Joseph Fortner of Birmingham finished third, carding an overall score of three-under 141 for the stroke play qualifying rounds.
After a 1.5 hour weather delay and a 3-for-2 playoff, the cut to the low 16 players fell at seven-over 151 within the Alabama State Senior Match Play Championship.
Match Play (Round of 16) for the 25th Alabama State Match Play and 6th Alabama State Senior Match Play Championships will begin on Saturday, August 8, at 7:30 a.m. off #1 tee with the Quarterfinals matches set to begin at the completion of the Round of 16.

Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
