Valley Hill Country Club
HOOVER, AL (June 5, 2020) – The Alabama Golf Association will host the 57th Alabama Girls State Junior at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville from June 8-10. The 27-hole, John LaFoy course welcomes a record-breaking field of 70 players from across the state on Monday.
This is the second time that Valley Hill Country Club has hosted the Girls State Junior Championship. The Championship was first played in 1963 with Judy Jehle winning the inaugural event. Martha Lang (1967-1970) and Michaela Morard (2015, 2017-2019) hold the record with 4 victories each.
Morard, a Huntsville native and Valley Hill member, will play for the opportunity to close her junior career in sole possession of the most Girls State Junior Championship victories.
The Alabama Golf Association looks forward to the inaugural playing of the Alabama Girls State 13 & Under Junior Championship.

In the event of a tie for the overall Championship only, a hole by hole play-off will be held immediately following play. The play-off holes and their order of play will be determined by the Committee.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 115 member clubs represented by nearly 19,000 individuals. Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
