ATHENS, AL (June 11, 2021) – Final results of the 72nd U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship – Athens Qualifying, hosted by Canebrake Golf Club in Athens, AL, on Friday, June 11, 2021 (6122 yards, par 36-36—72, Course/Slope Rating: 75.9/136).

Three qualifying spots were available at this site. Two alternate positions were also available. 

Karoline Tuttle of Lake Mary, FL, and Christine Chang of Auburn, AL posted two-under 70 to earn medalist honors. Tuttle and Chang both secured the first two qualifying spots.

Kynadie Adams of Nashville, TN defeated Kara Carter of Kingsport, TN in a six-hole playoff to claim the third qualifying spot. Carter poured a five-footer birdie putt to advance as a qualifier. Adams and Carter both posted a one-under 71 for the day. 

Carter secured the 1st Alternate position.

Morgan Jones of Auburn, AL posted an even-par 72 to claim the 2nd Alternate position.

The cut line fell at one-over 71 with three players advancing to the 72nd U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, in Chevy Chase, MD, on July 12-17, 2021.

The 72nd U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship - Athens Qualifier is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
