SCOTTSBORO, AL (June 23, 2021) – Second round results of the 31st Alabama Women’s Stroke Play Championship, 48th Alabama Women’s State Senior Amateur Championship and the 3rd Alabama Women’s State Super-Senior Amateur Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Goose Pond Colony Resort in Scottsboro, AL on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Anne Tincher of Huntsville claimed victory at the 3rd Alabama Women’s State Super-Senior Amateur Championship, posting five-over 77 for her final round. Overall, Tincher shot 27-over 171.

Claiming second, Debbie Atchley of Pelham secured her position through a scorecard playoff against Barbara Brown of Northport. Atchley posted 10-over 82 for her final round. Altogether, she carded 29-over 173.

Brown claimed third, posting 11-over 83 for the day. Overall, she shot 29-over 173.

Molly Brown Davidson of Birmingham and Ally Williams of Brownsboro continue to co-lead the Championship Division of Round Two at the 31st Alabama Women’s Stroke Play Championship.

Both Davidson and Williams carded two-under-par 70. They stand three-under 141, holding a four-stroke lead over Emilia Smith of Enterprise.

Smith stands third, posting one-over 73. She remains one over 145 for the tournament.

Isabel Rogers of Anniston leads the Tournament Division, posting 11-over-par 83. She stands 31-over 175 for the tournament.

The overall Women’s Stroke Play Champion is the player who posts the lowest 54-hole score in the Championship Division. Tournament Division will be flighted after 36 holes by score if necessary.

Kathy Hartwiger of Birmingham shot one-over 73 to lead the 48th Alabama Women’s State Senior Amateur Championship. Defending Champion, Hartwiger, holds a one-stroke lead over Donna Lowen of Huntsville.  

Lowen stands second with an even-par 72. She carded the low score of the day within her division.

Olivia Iturbe of Mobile posted an even-par 72 to stand 11-over 155 to lead the Tournament Division.

Sarah Vandervoort of Montgomery claimed second on the leaderboard, shooting one-over 73.

The Senior Overall Champion is the player who posts the lowest 54-hole score from the Championship Division. Tournament Division will be flighted after 36 holes by score if necessary.

This Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.
