Jinger Heath Leads Round One of the 59th Alabama Girls State Junior Championship

MONTGOMERY, AL (June 6, 2022) – First round results of the 59th Alabama Girls State Junior Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Montgomery Country Club in Montgomery, AL on Monday, June 6, 2022.

Jinger Heath of Decatur leads Round One of the 59th Alabama Girls State Championship, firing one-under 69. She holds a one-stroke lead to remain atop the leaderboard. Heath finished the round with four birdies.

“So making the turn, I was two-over,” Heath said. “So I knew I needed to get some birdies on the back nine, but I normally play better on the back nine.”

Molly Brown Davidson of Birmingham stands one stroke behind Heath, carding even-par 70. Davidson posted a total of three birdies for the round.

Kate Ha of Auburn stands third, posting one-over 71. Scarlett Schremmer of Birmingham stands fourth, standing two-over 72.

The following players stand T5, posting four-over 74.

Round Two of the 59th Alabama Girls State Junior Championship begins Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 7:30 a.m.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
