Molly Brown Davidson: Round Two Leader of the 59th Alabama Girls State Junior Championship

MONTGOMERY, AL (June 7, 2022) – Second round results of the 59th Alabama Girls State Junior Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Montgomery Country Club in Montgomery, AL on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

Molly Brown Davidson of Birmingham takes the lead during Round Two of the 59th Alabama Girls State Championship, firing one-under 69. She holds a six-stroke lead to remain atop the leaderboard. Davidson remained steady throughout her round, firing 2 birdies. Overall, Davidson remains one-under heading into Round Three.

My high of the day was probably my short game and making putts that were critical to my round,” Davidson says. “My strategy for tomorrow will be to hit more fairways and putt and chip well.”

Jinger Heath of Decatur stands second behind Davidson, posting five-over 76. She posted a total of two birdies for the round. Heath and Davidson consistently remained atop the leaderboard throughout the round.

Gabriella Nicastro stands third, finishing the round at even-par 70. She shot a total of three birdies.

Round Three of the 59th Alabama Girls State Junior Championship begins Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 7:30 a.m.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
