BESSEMER, AL (June 8, 2022) - Partial First Round results of the 106th Alabama State Amateur Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Bent Brook Golf Course in Birmingham, AL on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

156 players competed at Bent Brook Golf Course for Round One of the 106th Alabama State Amateur Championship. Morning tee times were delayed until 8:30 a.m. due to heavy rain during the early morning and subsequent course conditions. Afternoon tee times were delayed until 1 p.m. Play was suspended at 1:45 p.m. due to lightning, putting a halt in the afternoon wave until 4:10 p.m. Play resumed at 4:10 p.m. and carried on until 7:25 p.m. due to lightning in the area. 75 players will finish Round One tomorrow morning.
 
Trey Rouse of Homewood stands at the top of the leaderboard, firing six-under thru 9.
 
Max Johnson of Lillian and Jackson King of Hoover each posted five-under 68 to stand T2. Johnson is thru 16 and King is thru 15.
 
Eric Boutwell of Russellville stands fourth, carding four-under 67 for the day. Boutwell beat the called-day and finished the round.
 
Revised Schedule For Round One:
●      Practice facilities will open at 6:30 a.m.
●      Round One resumes at 7:30 a.m. on June 9, 2022.
 
Important Notes For Round Two:
●      Round Two begins at 8:30 a.m. on June 9, 2022.
●      Revised starting times are updated on the Championship website.
