DECATUR, AL (July 5, 2022) – Final results of the 2022 U.S. Amateur Qualifying hosted by Burningtree Country Club in Decatur, AL, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 (7084 yards, par 35-36—71, Course/Slope Rating: 73.7/142).

Three qualifying spots were available at this site. Two alternate positions were also available. There were 83 players who competed to qualify for the 122nd U.S. Amateur Championship.

Will Patrick of Oneonta, Alabama and Alfie Fox of England both fired an eleven-under 131 for the day to share medalist honors and earn the first two qualifying spots.

Patrick carded a seven-under 64 for round one and a four-under 67 for round two. Fox posted a three-under 68 for round one and eight-under 63 for round two.

Harrison Davis of Fort Payne, AL posted an eight-under 134 to claim the final qualifying spot. He carded a four-under 67 for round one and a four-under 67 for round two.

Mac Murphy of Decatur, AL secured the 1st Alternate position, carding a seven-under 135 for the day.

Ethan Hagood of Birmingham, AL claimed the 2nd Alternate position. Hagood carded a five-under 137.

The cut line fell at eight-under with three players advancing to the 2022 U.S. Amateur at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, NJ, on Aug.15-21, 2022.

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
