Patricia Ehrhart Secures Medalist Honors at the 90th Alabama Women’s State Amateur Championship - Stroke Play Qualifying

BIRMINGHAM, AL (July 6, 2022) – Stroke Play Qualifying results of the 90th Alabama Women’s State Amateur Championship and 4th Alabama Women’s State Senior Match Play Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Mountain Brook Club in Birmingham, Alabama on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

Match Play Pairings and Starting Times
 
Patricia Ehrhart of Birmingham claimed medalist honors at the 90th Alabama Women’s State Amateur Championship. She carded a three-under 68, leading the Championship.
 
Scarlett Schremmer of Birmingham and Carson McKie of Hoover both stand T2, each carding an even-par 71 for the day.
 
To conclude Stroke Play Qualifying, the nine following players competed in a playoff for four final positions in tomorrow’s Match Play.

After the first playoff hole, Beeker, Preus, Gilchrist and Ruble advanced to Round Two of the 90th Women’s Alabama State Amateur Championship.
 
Kathy Hartwiger of Birmingham leads the 4th Alabama Women’s State Senior Match Play Championship, posting a two-under 69. Hartwiger holds a four-stroke lead.
 
Theresa Mahlik of Madison stands second on the leaderboard with a two-over 73 to finish the day.
 
Within the Senior Tournament Division, Candy Mitchell of Springville leads, carding a three-over 74 for the day.
 
Nancy Gavin of Jacksons Gap and Barbee Bryant of Hoover both stand T2, each carding a seven-over 78 for the day.
 
18 holes of gross individual stroke play determine seeding within each division. The Championship Division will be cut to the low 16 players from the Stroke Play Qualifier that will compete for the overall Championship. Remaining Championship Division players will be divided into flights of four (4). 
 
Senior Championship and Tournament Division players will be divided into flights of four (4) to compete in Match Play, based on qualifying round score. 
 
All players are guaranteed a minimum of two matches, due to consolation brackets for each flight.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
