MOBILE, AL (July 19, 2022) – The Alabama Golf Association’s 15th Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Championship and 4th Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championship will take place at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove (Crossings Course) in Mobile, AL, July 20-21, 2022. The Women’s Four-Ball field is set with 12 players, making up six teams competing for the Championship title; the Women’s Senior Four-Ball field is set with 36 players making up 18 teams competing for the Championship title.

This year marks the 15th playing of the Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Championship and the 4th playing of the Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championship. This will mark the first time that RTJ Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove has hosted either event.
 
The team of Ashley-Sinclair Curtis of Enterprise and Molly Brown Davidson of Springville claimed their first Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Champion title in 2021 at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper, AL.
 
The team of Kathy Hartwiger of Birmingham and Lea Green of McCalla claimed the title in 2021 at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper, AL. The team will return once again to this year’s field to defend their title.

15th Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Championship
Entries for the 15th Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Championship are open to sides of female amateur golfers who are legal residents of Alabama and have an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club. Two players who play as partners comprise a side. Partners are not required to be from the same club. There will be two divisions: Championship and Tournament. Players must pick their division during online registration. 
 
Championship Yardage: 6186 yards, par 36-36–72
 
Course/Slope Rating: 74.9/136
 
This Championship consists of 36 holes of gross four-ball stroke play. The lowest score for 36 holes will be the Champions. In the event of a tie for the Championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play. The playoff holes and order of play will be determined by the AGA. Any other ties for prizes in all other flights will be resolved by matching scorecards according to the USGA recommendation shown in the Committee Procedures section within the Rules of Golf – “Matching Scorecards.” The Tournament Division will be flighted after 18 holes by score (if necessary). Initial groupings are for round one; round two is repaired by score.
 
4th Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championship
Entries for the 4th Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championship are open to sides of female amateur golfers who are legal residents of Alabama and have an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club. Two players who play as partners comprise a side. Partners are not required to be from the same club. Both members of the side must have reached their 50th birthday by July 20, 2022.
 
Championship Yardage: 5338 yards, par 36-36–72
 
Course/Slope Rating: 70.1/126
 
This championship consists of 36 holes of gross four-ball stroke play. The lowest score for 36 holes will be the Senior Champions (within First Flight, if necessary). In the event of a tie for the Senior Championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play. The playoff holes and order of play will be determined by the AGA. Any other ties for prizes in all other flights will be resolved by matching scorecards according to the USGA recommendation shown in the Committee Procedures section within the Rules of Golf – “Matching Scorecards.”

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
