Chase Kyes Leads Round Two of the 77th Alabama Boys State Junior Championship

ATHENS, AL (July 20, 2022) – Round Two results of the 77th Alabama Boys State Junior Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Canebrake Club, Athens, Alabama, on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

Chase Kyes of Birmingham holds the lead after Round Two of the 77th Alabama Boys State Junior Championship, firing a seven-under 65. He stands 13-under 131 for the tournament.
 
“I didn’t really make many mistakes,” Kyes said. “I kept the ball in the fairway and kept it on the green. I kept it pretty simple and easy.”
 
Trace Bracknell of Tuscaloosa and Ward Harris of Vestavia Hills both stand T2, each posting a 10-under 134 for the tournament. Bracknell finished with a six-under 66 for the round, and Harris carded a five-under 67.
 
Michael Crocker of Mobile stands fourth, carding a five-under 67 for the round and a nine-under 135 for the tournament.
 
Jackson Mitchell of Athens stands fifth. Mitchell went three-under 69 for the round and eight-under 136 for the tournament.
 
The cut line fell at three-over 147, with 67 players advancing to the Final Round.
 
The Final Round of the 77th Alabama Boys State Junior Championship will begin at 7:00 a.m. off holes #1 and #10 on Thursday, July 21, 2022.
 
This Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.
 
About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
