ONEONTA, AL (April 27, 2023) – Partial round one results of the Alabama Golf Association’s 41st Alabama State Four-Ball Championship held at Limestone Springs in Oneonta, AL on Thursday, April 27, 2023.

69 sides competed at Limestone Springs for round one of the 41st Alabama State Four-Ball Championship. Tee times were delayed by two hours due to heavy rainfall during the early morning and subsequent course conditions. Morning tee times began at 9:30 a.m.; afternoon tee times began at 2:10 p.m.
 
Two par-4 holes (#13 and #17) were changed to par-3 holes due to course conditions, making today’s round a par-70.
 
Play was suspended at 7:30 p.m. due to nightfall, leaving five sides to finish their round one play tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.
 
The team of Nick Dunlap of Huntsville + Bryan Askew of Decatur sits atop the leaderboard, firing a ten-under 60 for the day. Despite the course conditions, both players made eagle during their round. The duo also carded nine birdies total during their round.
 
Standing one stroke behind Dunlap + Askew, defending champions Daniel Burns of Owens Cross Roads + Alex Balog of Elmore carded a nine-under 61 to claim second going into round two.
 
Four teams stand T3, posting 62 for round one:

●      Braxton Gillespie of Grand Bay + Connor Elder of Mobile

Revised Schedule For Round One:
●      Practice facilities open at 6:15 a.m.
●      Round one resumes at 7:00 a.m
 
Round two will begin tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. as originally scheduled, off #1 and #10 tees.
 
This Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.
