Scarlett Schremmer Claims Wire-to-Wire Victory at the 60th Alabama Girls State Junior Championship

SCOTTSBORO, AL (June 7, 2023) – Final round results of the 60th Alabama Girls State Junior Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Goose Pond Colony Resort (Lake Course) in Scottsboro, AL on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. 
 
 
 
Scarlett Schremmer claimed the 60th Alabama Girls State Junior Championship title. Schremmer fired a 54-hole total of 12-under 204 (66, 72, 66) for a wire-to-wire victory . She fired six birdies during her bogey-free round today.  
 
“I tried to play my own game and just focus on my process and only on myself throughout the round,” Schremmer said. “It feels great honestly. I’ve had a few too many second-place finishes this year so I’m feeling pretty good, and I feel like this is a really good momentum builder for me going into the rest of the summer.” 
 
Gabriella Nicastro of Huntsville and Yvette Gorden of Pike Road finished T2, each posting six-under 210 for the championship. Today, Nicastro posted a four-under 68, and Gorden posted a two-under 70. After a scorecard playoff, Nicastro earned the second-place medal, and Gorden earned the third-place medal .   
 
Frances Brown of Mobile finished fourth with a 54-hole total of five-under 211.  
 
Kate Ha of Auburn came in fifth with an overall even par 216.  
 
This Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.
