MOBILE, AL (June 7, 2023) - Round One results of the 107th Alabama State Amateur Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by the Country Club of Mobile in Mobile, AL on June 7, 2022.

156 players competed at Country Club of Mobile to begin Round One of the 107th Alabama State Amateur Championship.
 
Play began at 7:00 a.m. Due to two weather delays in the afternoon, play continued until darkness at 8:15 p.m.
 
Thomas Crane of Mobile stands alone at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the day. Crane carded four-under 66, firing a total of six birdies during the round.
 
Crane said the home course advantage has contributed to his play. “The greens make a really big difference, being able to know where the putts are going because a lot of them are really tricky,” said Crane.
 
Five players sit just one stroke behind Crane at T2, carding a 67 (-3) for Round One.

Players will fight to make the cut beginning tomorrow, June 8, 2023, at 7:00 a.m. for Round Two of the 107th Alabama State Amateur Championship.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 115 member clubs represented by over 26,000 individuals. Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
