Round One Results of the Alabama State 13 & Under Junior Championships

BESSEMER, AL (June 21, 2023) – First Round results of the 4th Alabama State 13 & Under Junior Championships of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Bent Brook Golf Course in Bessemer, Alabama, on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

Henry Brown of Mobile and Patton Shaw of Northport lead the boys’ overall division, each posting a four-under 67. Sitting two strokes behind is Keegan Richardson of Athens, carding a 69 for the day.
 
Courtney Grace of Birmingham finished Round One one-under 70, securing the top of the leaderboard within the girls’ overall division. Standing just one stroke behind with a score of 71 is Merritt Daniel of Trussville. Emma Kate Rice stands third with a score of 75 for the day.
 
Play was briefly suspended from 11:14 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. due to unplayable course conditions. Round One concluded at Bent Brook Golf Course at 2:15 p.m. Round Two will begin tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.

●       Boys 12-13 Age Division: Henry Brown of Mobile and Patton Shaw of Northport, 67 (-4)
●       Boys 9-11 Age Division: Wells King of Birmingham, 72 (+1)
●       Boys 6-8 Age Division: Haynes Willings of Birmingham, 40 (+4)
●       Girls 12-13 Age Division: Merritt Daniel of Trussville, 71 (E)
●       Girls 9-11 Age Division: Courtney Grace of Birmingham, 70 (-1)
