2023 U.S. Amateur Championship Qualifying Results from Burningtree Country Club

DECATUR, AL (July 7, 2023) – Final results from U.S. Amateur Championship Qualifying hosted by Burningtree Country Club in Decatur, AL on Friday, July 7, 2023 (7084 yards, par 71, Course/Slope Rating: 73.7/142).

132 players competed to punch their ticket to the 123rd U.S. Amateur hosted by Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado from August 14-20, 2023. Six qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site. 
 
Brock Healy of Norcross, Georgia shot eleven-under through 36 holes to earn medalist honors. Along with Healy, the following five players will make the trip to Colorado:
●      Blake Henriques of Canton, Georgia (-10)
●      Kazuma Kobori of New Zealand (-9)
●      Thomas Ponder of Dothan, Alabama (-8)
●      Cayden Pope of Lexington, Kentucky (-7)
●      Joel Alexander of Florence, Alabama (-7)
 
After a three-man playoff to secure the first and second alternate seats, Will Patrick of Oneonta, Alabama and Sam Jones of New Zealand finished as first and second alternates, respectively.

This USGA Championship Qualifier is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.
 
About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 120 member clubs represented by over 27,000 individuals. Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
