Tight Race Headed Into the Final Round of the 5th Southeast Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship

ALEXANDER CITY, AL (Aug. 26, 2023) – Round One results of the 5th Southeast Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship hosted by Willow Point Golf & Country Club in Alexander City, Alabama on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 (Mid-Amateur Division: 7199 yards; Senior Division: 6697 yards; Par 36-36—72).

Mid-Amateur Division:
 
The team of Kyle Hammond + Will Hanna electrified the field with a nine-under 63 for Round Two. With a 36-hole total of 15-under 129, they lead the nearest competition by just one stroke.
 
Chris Devlin and Payton Osborn stand one stroke behind with a 36-hole total of 14-under 130. They carded a six-under 66 for Round Two.
 
The teams of Round One leaders Steven Groover + M Tyler McKeever and Wil Clowdus + Will McCurdy both stand T3, with two-day totals of 12-under 132.
 
The cut line fell at eight-under 136 with 20 teams advancing to the Final Round. Final Round tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. off #1 and #10.
 
Senior Division:
 
Leading the Senior Division through 36 holes, Shaw Pritchett + Jeff Taylor card a two-day total of 13-under 131. The duo fired a seven-under 65 to secure a one-shot lead headed into the Final Round.
 
The team of Mat Mize + Carter Mize stands second with a 36-hole total of 12-under 132; one stroke behind, David Hancock + Collin McCrary secured third on the leaderboard today with a nine-under 63 for Round Two. Hancock + McCrary stand 11-under 133 thru 36 holes.
 
The cut line fell at six-under 138 with 11 teams advancing to the Final Round. Final Round tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. off #1 and #10.
