First Round Results of the 28th Alabama State Senior & 7th State Super-Senior Championships

JASPER, AL (May 16, 2025) – Round one results of the 28th Alabama State Senior Amateur Championship & 7th Alabama State Super-Senior Amateur Championship held at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper, AL on Friday, May 16, 2025.

After an impressive day on the course, Chris Devlin of Hoover leads round one of the 28th Alabama State Senior Amateur Championship finishing the day 7-under par 64. He holds a four-shot lead over Jeff Taylor of Montgomery. 

When asked about his game plan for tomorrow, Devlin expressed that it is to “keep my foot on the pedal and try to play as aggressively as I can and try to not let too many people catch up on me.”

The following players stand tied at third at one-under 70:

At the 7th Alabama State Super-Senior Amateur Championship, Tom Davis of Hoover leads solo into round two at even-par 71.

The following players sit T2 at one-over 72:

Round two of the 28th Alabama State Senior Amateur Championship & 7th Alabama State Super-Senior Amateur Championship will begin tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. off #1 and #10 tees.

These Championships are conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 120 member clubs represented by over 30,000 individuals. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
