Results of the 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship Qualifying

BIRMINGHAM, AL – (May 28, 2025) Final results of the 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship Qualifying hosted at The Country Club of Birmingham - West in Birmingham, Alabama, Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Four qualifying spots were available at this site. Two alternate positions were also available. 

Eighty-two players competed to advance to the 77th U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.

Andrew Sciortino of Brentwood, Tennessee carded four-under 67 to secure medalist honors and earn the first qualifying spot. 

Jp Groat of Fort Payne, Alabama and Cole Stockard of Dalton, Georgia finished three-under 68 to tie for second and earn the second and third qualifying positions. 

Andrew Hinson of Huntsville, Alabama carded two-under to finish two-under 69 to earn the fourth and final qualifying spot.

Finn Burkholder of The Woodlands, Texas, Blake Cornell of Daphne, Alabama, and Will Pinson of Franklin, Tennessee, each posted one-under par 70 to all tie for fifth. After a playoff, Will Pinson of Franklin, Tennessee claimed the 1st Alternate position and Blake Cornell of Daphne, Alabama claimed the 2nd Alternate position.

Four players are advancing to the 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas, July 21-26, 2025.

The 2025 U.S. Junior Championship Qualifying is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 120 member clubs represented by over 30,000 individuals. In addition to competitions, the AGA administers the AGA Scholarship Fund through the Alabama Golf Foundation that is dedicated to assisting young golfers in higher education. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
