168 players began the First Round of the 80th Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Wynlakes Golf and Country Club today. Morning tee times began at 7:00 a.m., and the afternoon wave began at 12:15 p.m.
After a 2.5 hour delay this afternoon due to severe weather in the area, First Round play was suspended this evening due to darkness leaving 42 players left to complete Round One tomorrow at 7:00 a.m.
Rawlin Sutter of Cullman finished Round One with an impressive score of eight-under 64. He had nine birdies today to currently sit at the top of the leaderboard.
Eli Kinsey of Fairhope and Cameron Rockett of Hoover each finished their rounds at five-under 67 to currently sit T2.
Andrew Turner of Tuscaloosa and defending champion Bailey Sutter of Cullman currently sit T4, each carding four-under 68 for Round One.
Players will fight to make the cut beginning tomorrow, June 18, 2025 with Round Two beginning at 7:00 a.m. off #1 and #10 tees as originally scheduled.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 120 member clubs represented by over 30,000 individuals. In addition to competitions, the AGA administers the AGA Scholarship Fund through the Alabama Golf Foundation that is dedicated to assisting young golfers in higher education. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
