Round One Results 2nd Alabama Women's State Match Play & 7th Alabama Women's State Senior Match Play Championships




ANNISTON, AL (July 8, 2025) –
Round one results 2nd Women's State Match Play Championship and 7th Alabama Women's State Senior Match Play Championship held at Anniston Country Club in Anniston, AL on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Taylor Trible of Birmingham takes the top spot on the leaderboard in the 2nd Alabama Women’s State Match Play Championship, posting an even-par 72. Trible will sit as the No.1 seed heading into Match Play tomorrow.   
  
Yvette Gorden of Pike Road and Katelyn Foster of Mobile each posted two-over par 74 to grab the No. 2 and No.3 seeds, respectively.   

Within the Senior Championship Division, Chris Spivey of Pell City and Susan West of Tuscaloosa share the top spot at five-over 77. Spivey will take the top seed with West taking the No.2 seed in the bracket.

The Senior Tournament Division is led by Kyung-Hwa Theodoss of Hampton Cove, who finished first with a score of 12-over 84. 

Barbee Bryant of Hoover sits at second with a score of 15-over par.

Eighteen holes of gross individual stroke play determine seeding within each division. The Championship Division will be cut to the low 16 players from the Stroke Play Qualifier that will compete for the overall Championship. 
  
The Senior Championship Division will be cut to the low eight (8) players from the Stroke Play Qualifier that will compete for the overall Championship. 


The remaining Senior Championship Division players will play a 36-hole match.


In the Senior Tournament Division players will have one flight of four (4) and a 36-hole match.


All players are guaranteed a minimum of two matches, due to consolation brackets for each flight.

In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
