Taylor Trible of Birmingham + Yvette Gorden of Pike Road lead the 18th Women’s State Four-Ball Championship finishing the day with an impressive 10-under par 60. The duo sits two strokes under their nearest competition.
The following duos stand tied at second at eight-under par 62:
- Gabriella Nicastro of Huntsville + Klare Jamison of Huntsville
- Adalyn Pike of Athens + Chloe Ruble of Athens
The 7th Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championship division leaders at the end of Round One are the defending champions, Lea Green of McCalla + Linda Jeffery of Prattville. The team shot a combined six-under par 64 in the first round today.
Amanda Miller of Albertville + Donna Lowen of Huntsville stand second after posting a score of three-under par 67. Judi Jehle of Auburn + Virginia Grimes of Montgomery sit third after carding a combined even par 70.
In the Senior Tournament division, Elizabeth Underwood of Auburn + Karen Moore of Auburn hold a solo lead after round one, posting a combined score of one-under par 69.
Barbee Bryant of Pelham + Debbie Atchley of Hoover sit in second in the tournament division with a combined score of even par 70.
The second and final round will begin tomorrow morning, Wednesday, July 30th at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.
These Championships are conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.

The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 120 member clubs represented by over 30,000 individuals. In addition to competitions, the AGA administers the AGA Scholarship Fund through the Alabama Golf Foundation that is dedicated to assisting young golfers in higher education. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
