Hunter Hawkins Leads Round Two of the 37th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship

ONEONTA, AL (September 27, 2025) – Round Two results of the 37th Alabama State Mid-Amateur hosted by Limestone Springs Golf Club in Oneonta, AL, on Sept. 27, 2025.

Hunter Hawkins of Fort Payne fired an impressive Second Round score of six-under 66 to take the lead of the 37th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship. He had six birdies and an eagle today to finish at 10-under 134 overall. Hawkins holds a two-shot lead heading into the final round tomorrow. 

First Round leader, Casey O’Toole of Trussville and Blake Kelley of Birmingham each finished the day with overall scores of eight-under 136 to sit T2.

Blaise Wilson of Cullman climbed the leaderboard today firing a second round score of four-under 68 to hold the solo fourth place position going into tomorrow’s Final Round.

Three players sit T5, with a 36-hole total of 138 (-6):
  • Ty Cole of Albertville
  • Jackson King of Vestavia Hills
  • Jonathan Bolen of Pelham
The cut line fell at +8, with 70 players advancing to the Final Round.

The Final Round of the 37th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship begins Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. off #1 and #10 tees.

The 37th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.  

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)  
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 122 member clubs represented by over 33,000 individuals. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors.
