Round One Leaders of the 31st Alabama State Senior Four-Ball Jeff Taylor of Montgomery + Shaw Pritchett of Montgomery Fist Bump on #18 at Steelwood Country Club
LOXLEY, AL (October 9, 2025) – Round One results from the 31st Alabama State Senior Four-Ball and 7th State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships hosted at Steelwood Country Club in Loxley, AL, October 9-11, 2025.

The two time State Senior Four-Ball Champion side of Jeff Taylor of Montgomery + Shaw Pritchett of Montgomery currently lead the 31st State Senior Four-Ball Championship posting a first round score of eight-under 64. Together the duo had two eagles and six birdies today to sit two strokes ahead of the nearest competition. 

The following sides sit T2, each posting scores of six-under par 66 today: 
  • Chris Hummel of Birmingham + Sam Mango of Birmingham
  • Andy Stewart of Selma + Paul Garner of Tuscaloosa
  • Chris Lemley of Decatur + Tracy Lentz of Decatur
The side of David Head of Sterrett + Randy Smith of Childersburg lead the First Round of the 7th Alabama State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championship carding a combined seven-under 65 today.

Clark Alexander of Prattville + Tony Parrish of Prattville sit two shots back from the leaders at five-under 67 to hold the solo second place position after Round One.

Round Two will begin tomorrow morning, Friday, October 10, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. of #1 and #10 tees.

These Championships are conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.

In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors.
